Playoffs

Under normal circumstances I would be jumping up and down certainly excited that a team that I was on was making the playoffs. But, I was dejected (not to be confused with rejected) that EVERYONE gets to play at least one playoff game. The team that we're playing 'Elsies' has been undefeated. Now what could we attribute this too? Perhaps maybe due to the fact that they are in an environment where they have recess every work day? Never-the-less, we're prepared and ready for our upward trend - our winning streak! Good luck everyone...

Team Practice

So the team practice was a success! A handful of the available and dedicated rejects gathered at Travis' house for some hot dogs (chedderwersts too!), beer and fun in the sun. We talked about strategy on the field but am not sure we really nailed down any new plan of attacks. We all took long turns at 'bat'. Some of us even developed new injuries sure to cause us issues on the field tonight (just rub some dirt or hot dog on it huh?) Overall it was a nice way to round out the weekend. Though I'm sure that I'm not the only one that took a quick shower and drop dead tired into bed shortly after the party broke up! So, we have one more regulation game and then one playoff game. Get the lead out and let's put some more in the win category!

Bummer

Well, it was bound to happen. No, it isn't an end to the war in Iraq, but our very first loss. We were certainly left wanting when it came to playing the 'Blue Balls'. A team full of goliaths and folks that "couldn't feel" an out. There were errors on both sides of the field, but we couldn't seem to capitalize on any of them. Maybe it's because as the season progresses, the skill level of the other teams is progressing also? I'd like to think that the Blue's are out every afternoon in empty parks practicing their kicks, sneaky runs to second base and 'sliding' (even though it's now illegal for some reason). Speaking of which, I know from personal experience that sliding is allowed, I have the scars on my leg/arm to prove it (as I'm sure others on the team have too). Well, buck up right!?! Next week there IS NO GAME! the the 7th of July will yield us another win and perhaps some 'relief from the pressure' (of a loss).

We've gotten an update from our team captain and el capitan gives us a few more games to post to the schedule. I'm going to have to rack my smallish, man-sized brain for cool quotes and tangy one-liners to post there. More to follow.

Game Photos

Game photos has been added. You can look at the front page and click on the game to see the photos that were taken. I really wanted to do some captions along side each photo - maybe I will. But right now they would all seem the same - something like 'Whoo hoo!' or 'look at that group out on the field in red shirts. Maybe I would get all A-D-D and say "look, there goes a fly."

Game #2

Well, it seems that even though grade/middle/post secondary school founds us always one step behind, we are moving up the ranks in kickball fame. How is this might you ask? Game two was another in the 'W' category. There were many humorous moments that involved everything from runs around the bases that ended in an out 10 feet from home via a trip over the ball to infielders on the 'Crafty High Kickers' that seemed to catch all of the kickballs headed her way. As one of the hours in our 657,000 lifetime - this one easily moves up to the front. Oh, and if you didn't hear about it, the t-shirts cost was lowered to $7.00 (from $8.50). As they say in Monopoly "Bank Error In Your Favor, collect ... $1.50" Keep up the good work team.

Site Colors finally nailed down

Putting my googling skills to good work, the site is now ready for mass viewing - I think. The only remaining item to add is sections for game pictures and a 'Meet The Team'. Hopefully I'll snap some of the golden photos here this monday, along with a general consent.

First Win!

Okay, so we had our very first win on Monday night. It was a squeaker, that's for sure. Last inning and we were down by one. Suddenly there was a swift kick to the right outfield - not foul - and our man (woman really) on base was able to head home...it was a home run - up by two and the recess rejects have a record of 1-0.

Travis
